Ce colloque organisé par le CESAER et la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme de Dijon s’adresse à l’ensemble des chercheurs en sciences humaines et
sociales.

Le redéploiement des enquêtes collectives est inséparable de l’évolution du contexte institutionnel et financier de la recherche dans les dernières
décennies. Ce colloque vise à réunir des retours d’expériences contemporaines et des travaux d’histoire des sciences sociales relatifs aux
enquêtes collectives. Les contributions présenteront des enquêtes collectives contemporaines, des enquêtes collaboratives, des enquêtes
collectives passées, ou encore des revisites de terrains précédemment étudiés. Il s’agit de cerner les évolutions épistémologiques et
scientifiques qui se font jour dans les pratiques collectives de la recherche.

The Role
The School of Anthropology and Conservation are seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer in Social Anthropology for a fixed period of 3 years.
The post holder will have a strong and developing research profile in any field of socio-cultural anthropology. The post holder will also have a
doctorate, excellent publications either out or forthcoming, and relevant teaching experience at University level. We are particularly interested in a
candidate whose research engage with contemporary theoretical debates, demonstrates a strong foundation in ethnographic fieldwork, and is
potentially of international significance.

The Person
You will hold a PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in Social or Cultural Anthropology.
You will also have research experience in Social Anthropology with a strong developing publication record and experience of applying for research grant funding.
Teaching ability of a high standard at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas required and the ability to supervise undergraduate and
postgraduate research are essential to this post.

The Department
The School of Anthropology and Conservation is a multidisciplinary school integrating Social Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, and the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE).

The School was ranked 6th in the 2013 National Student Survey for ‘Overall Student Satisfaction’ and ‘Teaching’, 6th in the Guardian University Guide 2014, as well as being judged ‘Excellent’ in the most recent Teaching Quality Assessment. In the 2008 RAE, 55% of DICE’s and 50% of Anthropology’s outputs were assessed to be world-leading or internationally excellent, attracting a 47% increase in the School’s QR research income. Other current funding sources include UK Research Councils (ESRC and NERC), European Research Council, Darwin Initiative, conservation NGOs and the Leverhulme Trust.

The University of the Witwatersrand is one of the leading Universities in South Africa and is currently investing substantially in new research initiatives. Funding for onepostdoctoral research fellowship is available at the Department of International Relations. The fellowship will be granted for a period of two years, with renewal after one year based on performance and progress. We are looking for a candidate with experience in security studies in Africa, supporting the development of a new research project on the « security development nexus ». Particularly expertise in peacekeeping and peace building is advantageous. Familiarity with the main actors in the field such as the UN, AU and EU is expected. The postdoc will conduct research in coordination with the departmental host but will also be given the opportunity to conduct his/her own research.

Minimum requirements:
1.PhD obtained within the last 5 years
2.Evidence of expertise in security studies in Africa
3.Evidence of research excellence and innovation
4.Familiarity with research methodology (qualitative/quantitative)

Duties and Expectations:
1.Undertake focused and high quality research;
2.Undertake other activities related to the academic programme and the professional development of the individual;

Pouvoirs locaux et richesses des territoires (2 juin, Paris)

Journée d’étude internationale  Pouvoirs locaux et richesses des territoires, qui se tiendra le 2 juin 2014, dans les locaux de la Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, 190 avenue de France 75013 Paris.

Cette conférence entend rapprocher des travaux sur l’exploitation des ressources naturelles et sur l’exploitation des richesses minières, notamment en Afrique. Elle souhaite apporter une contribution spécifique en centrant la réflexion sur l’échelle locale : notamment sur la place accordée  aux pouvoirs locaux dans les dispositifs de décision, de gestion et de contrôle et au exploitations extractives artisanales.

Cette rencontre est organisée par le Réseau Interdisciplinaire Afrique-Monde (RIAM – FMSH Programme Afriques) et l’Institut de recherches Interdisciplinaires sur les Enjeux Sociaux (IRIS, EHESS), en collaboration avec deux associations – CORENS ( région Nord-Pas-de-Calais) et CIBELE (région Ile de France).
