Today, we proudly announce the launch of our new EADI website. With its new design, it displays our members’ publications, calls and trainings more visibly than before, and of course continues to feature recent EADI news and events. With the sophisticated search function, you can now browse member’s recent publications and have a look at EADI’s latest blogposts. This week’s blogpost gives an insight into Shrayana Bhattacharya’s latest book, “Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh: India’s Lonely Young Women and the Search for Intimacy and Independence”. We also invite you to register for our very first Distinguished Guest Lecture this year, taking place the 10th of May at 11am, CET, in which Sally Matthews from Rhodes University will shed the light on alternatives to development with special focus on the African concept of ubuntu. Furthermore, we highlight a new open access book by GRIP. The thematic focus of our selection of member’s publication is on health and well-being.

Save the Date: Next Guest Lecture on 10 May We are happy to invite you all to our very first distinguished guest lecture this year, which will be given by  Sally Matthews from Rhodes University, South Africa. On 10 May at 11.00 CEST. She will critically explore the viability of the idea of alternatives to development, with particular reference to ubuntu in the South African context. Leaving No Child and No Adolescent Behind The Global Research Programme on Inequality (GRIP) recently announced that the book Leaving No Child and No Adolescent Behind – A Global Perspective on Addressing Inclusion through the SDGs is now available as an open access download. The book « seeks to address the main drivers of poverty, exclusion, urbanization, and violence against children and adolescents and investigates how knowledge, information, data collection, measurement, and monitoring can support strategies and innovations to effectively implement the SDGs by drawing on data and experience from several countries across the world. »Read more
