| 2nd Issue February 2026 Editorial This is our last newsletter before international women’s day on 08 March, and so we have a thematic focus on gender and feminism today, and are also happy to invite you to our webinar on feminist participatory grantmaking. Our latest blog discusses structural injustices and possible opportunities for indigenous youth in a conservation park in Southern Africa, and we’d like to remind you that applications for our workshop on transformative skills are still open until 15 March. From our Blog Unlocking the Benefits from Conservation? Indigenous Youth and Entrepreneurship in Drakensberg Park « Indigenous communities have played a significant role in tourism ventures. However, this “role” does not necessarily imply that they have control over these ventures, that their values guide them, or even that they benefit from them ». The authors our latest blog explore how local youth in Drakensberg park could benefit from tourism based on indigenous knowledge systems. For All Women and Girls This webinar will highlight the importance of Feminist Participatory Grantmaking (FPG) amid the growing backlash against social justice movements, the rise of right-wing propaganda, the shrinking of civic space, and the decline in funding opportunities. It will explore how FPG offers a more sustainable and equitable approach to funding mobilization, as decision-making is led by partners and practitioners who bring both expertise and lived experience of the socio-political issues affecting their communities. This online workshop on 10 June creates a structured space for scholarly dialogue, reflective analysis, and hands-on co-design. It connects practice-oriented insights from applied sciences and regional transformation contexts with EADI’s international perspective on higher education and development.
