IFAS Cultural News and Events Bassline Fest I AM HERE
Bassline Fest I AM HERE is a live music concert celebrating and reviving the live music experience and is set to be the gig of the year.

We are excited to sponsor Bassline Fest I AM HERE, which will be happening this Saturday, 27 November at the iconic Constitution Hill!

Thanks to our long-term partner, Bassline, who has also joined forces with ACCESS, this festival will be making sure that the Johannesburg residents and surrounding areas together enjoy the greatest Pan-African music festival this year at the iconic site.

We, as the French Institute of South Africa, are particularly thrilled to be involved with this festival.  as This is an extension of our partnership with Bassline who we worked with to bring back Fête de la Musique this year, but it is also a teaser of our upcoming Paris-New York festival, which is our commitment to keeping the spirit of music alive.

Tickets for the Bassline I AM HERE festival are available on Computicket and Howler. Admission is R400 for adults and R200 for children and under. Click on any of the links provided below t get your ticket before they’re sold out!

Starting from16h00 and ending at 23h00, this family-friendly concert is one not to be missed.

Headlined by our Iconic Thandiswa Mazwai « King Tha » and Zambian rapper-writer SAMPA THE GREAT. Also featuring is Legendary South African rapper StogieT is also featured and will be performing with an all-star jazz quartet and Lesotho’s Morena Leraba. Supporting acts include Jozi rising stars BLK JKS, LaliBoi & Ikati Esengxoweni (Fête de la Musique 2021 performers) and Moonga K. from Botswana.

The concert will be performed in front of a live audience (in compliance with COVID-19 regulations) and will be streamed internationally through Bassline’s festival partners.

On Thursday 2nd December 2021, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) will be celebrating its 80th anniversary all over the world!
 
As part of the birthday celebrations, AFD’s project leaders, partners and clients are invited to share their experiences, to drive this transformation as well as to reaffirm its commitment to its partners and its people in the countries it serves.
 
Interested in knowing what vision AFD has for 2101, 80 years from now? You are cordially invited to join in on this celebration, held under the high patronage of President Emmanuel Macron.

Curator Riason Naidoo’s neuf-3 exhibition has proven to be a huge success in the streets of Saint-Denis, France! Originally planned to be on show until September, the community and tourists of the cultural city have loved the exhibition so much it’s been decided to be extended indefinitely.
 
If your travels plans are to go to Paris sometime soon, make sure you add seeing the neuf-3 exhibition in the city famous for its multitude of Pan-African ethnicities, cultures, and religions!
